This programme will assist practitioners in gaining advanced knowledge and skills to effectively manage the demands of rapidly changing, and increasingly complex health and social care practice environments.
What you will learn

The focus of learning in the programme will include working reflexively with clients and communities within differing interprofessional collaborations and relationships. It will enable students to engage in transformative learning strategies that build on the strengths, knowledge, skills and relationships acquired as experienced practitioners. This practice-based learning approach will enhance students' ability to engage in future professional and work-related challenges.

This program is for those with a degree in another subject who want to progress their career into human resource management. Students will develop specialist skills in staff management, recruitment, employee performance, employee up-skilling and development, and conflict resolution. This program includes a work placement and research project.

All modules in the Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management are compulsory.

The Bachelor of Technology is an innovative, practically-orientated and future-focused degree.

Agritechnology
Agritechnology is about the science of agriculture, including soil and plant analysis, and plant and animal production. People who choose this pathway can work in positions as researchers or laboratory technicians with a focus on agriculture.

Environmental Technology
Environmental technology is about the science of conservation, biosecurity and environmental management. People who choose this pathway can work in positions as biosecurity officers who help manage pest animal and plant control, and help conserve local environments.

Students in the Bachelor of Design programme will develop their creativity, innovation, and design capabilities to find new ways to visually and strategically solve challenges for brands and organisations.

Visual communication
Students will add value to brands or organisations by creating artwork and graphic designs for digital media, magazines, brochures, advertising, packaging and products. They will learn:

• Graphic design for print, package, and publication
• Logo design and brand identity development
• Illustration
• Web and interactive design and motion graphics

This program provides students with postgraduate study leading towards professional and higher academic practice. Students will learn within a research-focused learning environment, and will extend their domain of practice through research in their chosen area.

Students will extend their domain of practice through undertaking a body of sustained, independent research. This in-depth investigation is in the student's chosen area of communication, design, music or visual arts practice within a research-focused learning environment. The program will prepare students for high level investigation of, and intervention within their chosen academic or professional field.

This program is for those with a degree in another subject who want to progress their career into operations management. Students will develop specialist skills in analysis and logistics to plan and implement production efficiencies. This programme includes a work placement and research project.

All modules in the Graduate Diploma in Operations and Production Management are compulsory, there are no elective modules. Students will study five modules specific to Operations and Production Management covering subjects

This program is designed to provide students with a broad base of business knowledge, and gain role-specific skills in either accounting or leadership and management.

All strands will learn about business operational functions, business communication, the New Zealand business context and interpersonal relationships.

In the accounting strand students will study financial transactions, financial statements, budgeting and taxation, and decision-making and analysis. This strand may equip graduates to work towards the academic requirements for CAANZ’s Accounting Technicians College.

In the leadership and management strand students will study business planning, project management, and leadership.

Students studying the Bachelor of Communication at Wintec will learn to communicate effectively with flair. Working individually and in teams, they will hone their storytelling and analytical skills gaining industry-relevant skills and knowledge through hands-on, client-focused projects.

Introduced to both creative media and digital marketing, students develop their expertise in their chosen endorsement through project roles and elective choices, with the opportunity to further specialise in their third year.

Creative media 
Along with core communication skills, writing, multimedia storytelling, and basic digital marketing, students will develop further skills to be creative content producers. Students will learn:

• Media production and delivery
• Creative research and development
• Photography
• Video production

Students will generate dynamic, creative media solutions. They will produce a range of engaging content for delivery across a variety of platforms, that respond to a brief, and appeal to their intended audiences.

Studying this program, students will be equipped with the skills for a multi-media career in journalism or communications.

Students in this program will develop news sourcing, writing and publishing skills; as well as technical skills in photography and videography. Students will put these skills into practice publishing regularly in the Wintec online newspaper, The Waikato Independent, and through projects with industry.
