You will follow a set of modules providing a specialism in information systems, evolutionary systems, or creative computing. This course aims to provide you with a realistic perspective on how to manage across borders. You will explore the contemporary concepts, debates and practical challenges in sustainable global management. Through a selection of real-life projects, international virtual teamwork activities and other innovative learning methods, you will learn about the difficulties and benefits of managing people, strategies, processes and structures across cultures and languages. 
Your first year will introduce basic concepts and practices for the study of management and international business. During the second year, you will have the opportunity to deepen your understanding of international management by studying specialised modules. 

We will equip you with the skills to tackle a range of increasingly problematic and complex issues which may include our ever growing and ageing human population, our medical problems and the impacts our actions have on each other and on life on Earth.

Combining Biochemistry and Biology gives you the chance to approach problems from the molecular and organismal level. The Biochemistry element of the course covers mainly mammalian Biochemistry and has a focus on health and disease. You’ll have the opportunity to engage in additional opportunities which may include field courses and research projects. You may also have the opportunity to apply for a placement.

Astrophysics is active wherever the laws of physics are being tested to the limit – and beyond. Keele will help you to use astronomical observations, mathematical models and computer simulation to develop theories explaining some of the most complex phenomena. You’ll develop your mathematics and computing skills, and apply them to solving a range of problems in the laboratory and beyond (you’ll have access to Keele’s own on-site observatory). Keele’s teaching and research explore a wide diversity of chemistry, helping you to develop subject knowledge and transferable skills in a supportive learning environment. You’ll develop a solid foundation of theory and practical skills, building to cover advanced concepts and contemporary issues in chemistry in later years.

You’ll learn to use chemistry in problem solving, and to present your theories and findings confidently and imaginatively. You may have the opportunity to tailor your studies to reflect your interests, and learn how to pursue your own research. You’ll also gain experience with scientific instruments and techniques, and enjoy access to dedicated IT facilities. 

Studying physics at Keele, you will learn to apply mathematics and computing to formulate and solve a wide range of physical problems. You’ll use mathematics to describe the physical world, and learn to plan and conduct investigations before reporting your results. Your course will be informed by the research interests of your teaching staff.

During your studies, you will examine how organisations function within their wider political and economic environment; how they develop and deploy management, and how they plan strategies to address future goals that are essential for becoming the business leaders of tomorrow. The programme explores the formal and informal ways of regulating the employment relationship in the public, private and voluntary sectors. 

The course will help you to understand the basic principles of business management, with the behaviour of households and businesses together with organisational behaviour and strategy being key themes of this course. Additionally, you will examine the behaviour of financial institutions, such as banks, hedge funds and portfolio managers, their instruments and how they interact in markets. You will learn analytical and statistical methods and techniques for addressing real world problems, data and policy-related issues.

With access to professional software tools such as Bloomberg and Stata to analyse and interpret financial and business data, you will learn how to communicate complex information to a range of audiences. 

Studying History and Politics at Keele will enable you to develop your appreciation of various global histories and political arenas, whilst enjoying the rich history of our local area. In your spare time, you might find yourself exploring the largest collection of Anglo-Saxon metalwork most likely deposited in the 7th century in the then Kingdom of Mercia. The Staffordshire Hoard provides a window to England in the 6th and 7th centuries and also to the warrior elite that existed during these times and now rests less than 5 miles away from Keele.

Whether interpreting acts of resistance, assessing economic change, describing environmental behaviour or understanding acts of oppression, an appreciation of the past is essential to understanding where we are today and how we’re attempting to shape the future. Even societies in the very distant past can be highly relevant in this respect, which is why history and politics work very well together as subjects. You will learn the skills of the historian as you deepen your understanding of eras, continents and cultures from political, social and religious perspectives, and you will learn to use that knowledge to analyse the way in which societies govern themselves today. You’ll develop an understanding of different approaches to history and politics, developing a range of methods used in their pursuit. 

Studying this degree will provide a solid grounding in the core principles and practice of forensic science, as well as an understanding of the wider context of crimes and responses to them.

You will develop not only experience in forensic investigation, but also knowledge and skills in analytical science, thereby laying the foundation for your future career. You will work alongside academic and technical staff, supported by contributions from forensic professionals, in our modern laboratory facilities. You may also learn from active criminological researchers who specialise in areas such as criminal justice, prisons, rehabilitation, community safety, and a range of different forms of policing. 

In addition you will examine the nature and causes of crime and offending plus the methods used to collect and analyse criminological data.
