• The Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) - this programme is CEng accredited and fulfils the educational requirements for registration as a Chartered Engineer.

Studying accounting at Strathclyde, you'll learn about the preparation, presentation and interpretation of financial information that enables investors, lenders, management, employees, government and others to make effective decisions.

You'll also learn how to read and interpret accounting information in the annual reports of businesses and the financial information within the public sector and become familiar with the principles and practice of presenting information to those who manage all types of organisations.

In this course, we offer you the chance to develop knowledge of the education systems of Scotland and beyond, looking at issues including policy, social justice, equity and inclusion.

Combining education with other subjects provides opportunities for those who wish to work in professions associated with education, but who don't wish necessarily to become teachers. Please note that this course doesn't allow you to qualify as a teacher, though joint honours Education graduates will be able to explore postgraduate routes into teaching careers (via the PGDE).

HRM is about the relationship between employers and employees and the ways in which people are managed in the workplace. This integrated Masters programme is for students who wish to follow a research career in physics. The course provides in-depth learning and additional research opportunities for highly ambitious and motivated students. The degree is designed to accept students directly into second year.

Industrial placement

• We recognise the key links between physics and industry and many start-up companies and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Scotland owe their existence to physics-based ideas. This is why we offer our students the chance to undertake an industrial placement during the break between Year 3 and Year 4. These placements are offered on a competitive basis.

Psychology degree courses at the University of Strathclyde are a popular choice with our undergraduates. The MSc in Quantitative Finance has been developed to address the demand for market-aware graduates who can demonstrate an understanding of mathematical models used in financial tools, products and software.

The course is an innovative cross-faculty alliance between Strathclyde Business School and the Faculty of Science. It's been designed for those with a strong aptitude for mathematics, statistics and computing who haven't studied these topics in detail in their undergraduate degree. The course allows students with different degree backgrounds to learn the necessary skills to move into the financial industry.

The program will prepare you for a career in financial engineering and risk management leading to roles as a hedge fund manager or financial analyst.
