History

• Studying history – the story of humanity through the ages – develops your knowledge of the past and gives you a better understanding of the present.

Journalism, Media & Communication

• Today’s media industry expands beyond traditional print and broadcast journalism. It includes professional bloggers and vloggers, freelance writers and editors, podcasters, people working in entertainment TV, radio, or film, creators of video games and interactive apps, promoters of ideas and products, and many others.
• The most successful professionals in today’s media are not only highly skilled in reporting, writing, editing and pitching their material, but they are also excellent communicators online and offline, and problem-solvers. • Pursuing the BA in Journalism, Media and Communication will engage you in useful learning in a broad professional context, which includes a critical understanding of the media industry, while acquiring technical and professional skills in journalism, communication, information design and management, and using them in the dynamic media market of Glasgow and beyond. Our main focus in psychology is the study of human behaviour.

Mechanical engineers are currently in demand in all types of industry. The MSc in Advanced Mechanical Engineering has been developed to provide high-calibre mechanical engineering graduates with an in-depth technical understanding of advanced mechanical topics, together with generic skills that will allow them to contribute effectively in developing company capabilities.

This course will help you to gain expert knowledge in advanced mechanical engineering topics. You'll also have the opportunity to take modules in general skills such as project management and risk analysis. These are necessary skills for any professional engineer.

Please note that this course doesn't allow you to qualify as a teacher, though joint honours Education graduates will be able to explore postgraduate routes into teaching careers (via the Professional Graduate Diploma in Education).

This two-year course gives you the opportunity to explore architecture in a broad-based manner through theoretical and practical work. It demands a high level of design ability and self-motivation while giving you the chance to explore and develop projects related to your own interests.

You’ll appraise current theoretical approaches to architecture and urban design then assess and show their relevance in existing and proposed contexts. You’ll also develop and demonstrate formal and technical architectural ability.

If you obtain all diploma credits at first sitting you'll have the opportunity to proceed to Masters, thus converting your Diploma into a MArch. This requires an extra three months of study.
