• The School of Government & Public Policy has a number of research centres that relate to the topics covered and the content of the course. For example, the European Policies Research Centre is a leading hub for the study of regional development policy and collection of such data in Europe, a centre that is of increasing importance in the wake of Brexit.
• Specialised policy centres focused on health and energy – such as the Centre for Energy Policy – also add to the applied policy environment at Strathclyde. The Institute for Future Cities' City Observatory, located in Strathclyde’s award-winning Technology & Innovation Centre, uses data to understand and address urban problems. Business enterprise is about the creation of wealth, creativity and resourcefulness and exploiting change. This course is designed for students who want to start a new enterprise, those who want to take over the management of an existing business and those who are aiming for leadership positions.

In Business Law, you’ll study commercial law and business legal regulations. These include company law, competition law and human rights law.

Business Law can only be studied as a second subject as a joint Honours option.

Mediation is fast becoming a core skill. Professionals in business, public bodies and the law are increasingly expected to resolve disputes without the delay and expense of litigation.

This Scottish Mediation Register-accredited programme is the only course of its kind in the UK. It's rigorous and multidisciplinary, combining both theoretical and practical elements. You'll be exposed you to a wide range of approaches as well as being taught by experts from across the UK.

Graduates at Certificate, Diploma or Masters level fulfil the training requirements for the Scottish Mediation Register.
