This course was developed in response to the demand for design engineers who can design and assess new ships and offshore structures.

You'll be introduced to ultimate strength, fatigue and design concepts for structural components of ships and offshore floating systems. You'll also gain the knowledge of material behaviour together with factors influencing the dynamic behaviour of offshore installations.

Understanding the development and functioning of environmental law across different levels of environmental governance is an important issue of our time. This requires moving beyond the traditional approach to teaching international, regional, EU and national environmental law in isolation from one other.

There's also a growing need to understand the relevance for environmental governance of the legal practices of indigenous peoples and local communities, business entities, local administrations, and transnational environmental practitioners.

Studying this course, you'll be equipped with a wide range of expertise in environmental law, in areas such as:

With us, you can study everything from poetry, the novel and drama (stage, screen, and radio) as you would expect on an English and Creative Writing degree. In Psychology, you’ll study human behaviour. Psychological research is motivated by the desire to understand both general behaviour (how we learn, remember, co-ordinate our actions and interact with others) and the reasons for the differences between individuals, such as personality or intelligence.

The study of Law is regarded not as purely vocational, but part of a broader education. Please note that studying Law within the BA degree will not qualify you for entry to the legal profession.
