In Psychology, you’ll study human behaviour. Psychological research is motivated by the desire to understand both general behaviour (how we learn, remember, co-ordinate our actions and interact with others) and the reason for the differences between individuals such as personality or intelligence.

A joint Honours degree is not accredited for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership by the British Psychological Society.

Mediation is fast becoming a core skill. Professionals in business, public bodies and the law are increasingly expected to resolve disputes without the delay and expense of litigation.

This Scottish Mediation Register-accredited programme is the only course of its kind in the UK. It's rigorous and multidisciplinary, combining both theoretical and practical elements. You'll be exposed you to a wide range of approaches as well as being taught by experts from across the UK.

Graduates at Certificate, Diploma or Masters level fulfil the training requirements for the Scottish Mediation Register.

For those working in international settings, the core modules can be combined with classes such as International Human Rights Law to provide the foundation for work with charities and non-governmental organisations committed to conflict resolution.

You can graduate with either an LLM or MSc. Those whose dissertations deal with significant legal or justice questions receive recognition via an LLM. As a politics student, you'll look at the work of governments and their policies and study the behaviour of those who govern - and who they are governing - both at home and abroad. Naval architecture is an ever-evolving industry with many specifications and unique challenges. In studying this course, you'll have the opportunity to become a competent naval architecture graduate which industry is looking for.

This course addresses an identified market need for a postgraduate qualification relevant to the naval architecture industry, and which develops skills and knowledge in technical and engineering aspects of that industry.

Designed for graduates in naval architecture, offshore engineering and related disciplines, you'll gain advanced knowledge of naval architecture, marine design and marine structures.

Group project
You’ll be part of a group of three to five people working as a consultant team for 10 weeks. You'll address a practical engineering problem and have the opportunity to present the report to a panel of industry experts. The project will provide you with an enriched experience in the selection, conceptualisation, and designing of a novel vessel or an offshore asset. It'll also include a thorough market review, concept, and focused design studies and techno-economic analysis in a simulated design project environment.

This project will enhance your team working and communication skills.  It also provides valuable access to industry contacts.

The group project will be assessed by a panel of industry experts.

Civil engineering develops and improves facilities and services that society needs – from the supply of clean water and energy to the design and construction of roads, railways and stations.

Tall buildings such as the Shard in London or the new Queensferry Bridge across the Firth of Forth are exciting examples of civil engineering.

Our graduates develop and renew our towns and cities, and improve links with more remote communities.

Solving problems of air, land and water pollution and protecting society against natural disasters are also important aspects of civil engineering.

There are a number of ways you can study law at Strathclyde, one such way being the BA degree in combination with another subject.

Law is concerned with the study of the obligations, duties and rights which every member of society has in relation to one another and to the state.

The study of law is regarded not as purely vocational, but part of a broader education. Please note that studying law within the BA degree will not qualify you for entry to the legal profession. For professional qualifications in law, students follow the LLB programme.

Our main focus in psychology is the study of human behaviour.
