The aim of the MSc Economics & Finance is to produce highly skilled professionals who can analyse, understand and explain the complex economic and financial issues that arise in a globalised world. 

Jointly delivered by the Departments of Economics and Accounting & Finance, you will study the interaction between economics and finance, which is now critical to understanding the world we live in. 

Training in these subjects will equip you for finding employment in the public or private sector as economists, analysts or consultants. 

There is a strong emphasis on developing and applying skills learned in classes to real-world situations. 

The practitioner seminar series within our Professional Development for Economists class provides you with opportunities to learn from senior figures in business, consultancy and government about the key economic issues of the day and their own journey to the top of their chosen career. Many of the speakers are our own graduates.

The MSc Information Management is professionally accredited by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) and further recognised by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

Graduates are entitled to become associate members of CILIP and are eligible for chartership leading to the award of MCLIP. Graduates are also entitled to associate membership of CMI (ACMI) and can progress to Member grade (MCMI) and finally Chartered manager.

Our BA degrees in Humanities & Social Sciences are initially broad-based. In Year 1 you will study three subjects, including your chosen subject(s).

With the world-wide search for offshore oil and gas moving into increasingly hostile areas of ocean and deep and ultra-deep water, floating systems are becoming more widely used. Floating systems must be designed and built to withstand harsh environments with innovative methods and techniques being adopted to develop robust as well as economically efficient and safe structures. In meeting these challenges, concern for the environment is of increasing importance.

Digital Health is one of the fastest growing economic sectors worldwide. It's creating jobs twice as fast as any other economic sector in Scotland and globally (Financial Times 2018).

Digital Health arises from the intersection of health and care services, information technology and mobile technology, and encompasses digital products and systems that can monitor, analyse, educate and improve health and care (Deloitte 2015). 

This one-year Master’s degree (also available part-time over 24 months) is the perfect conversion pathway for recent graduates looking to move into the health and care sector. It's also ideal for existing health and social care practitioners looking to up-skill in digital innovation.

Biomedical engineering is a rapidly expanding industry, with the National Health Service, industrial and academic research and development all making advances to meet the increasing demands of healthcare.
