Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

As a student in the B.S. in Business Analytics program, you will gain extensive skills in statistical analysis, data visualization and modeling (descriptive, predictive and prescriptive). That strong analytical and technical background is balanced by insights into how these models can be applied across functional business areas.
Concentrations in Quantitative Economics and Econometrics
Quantitative Economics and Econometrics use mathematical and statistical methods to develop techniques for measuring a range of systems, including financial, government, social, legal, medical, and so on. Students with a quantitative economics and econometrics background learn to assess and measure trends to understand complex phenomena and to improve long-term positioning.

Concentrations in Autonomous and Electric Vehicles
This concentration covers emerging topics in both the autonomous system and the electric vehicle system. It requires two courses on autonomous vehicle systems and two courses on electric vehicle systems. The autonomous vehicle system covers the software and hardware architectures of the autonomous driving, vehicle dynamics system and modeling, different sensors used for autonomous driving and techniques for sensor fusion to define vehicle localization, and environment perception. An advanced course covers computer vision methods for detection, control and motion planning in autonomous vehicles, and connected vehicles concepts. The electric vehicle system covers the modeling and control of electric motors, and the hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), including architecture, sub-system design, and sizing, modeling, and energy management strategies. It also covers vehicle dynamics along with energy storage, and power electronics utilized in HEVs as well as the environmental and economic impacts and current limitations of HEVs.

Concentrations in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
Logistics and Supply Chain Management is the coordination of all logistical functions in an enterprise including acquisition, handling, the internal allocation of resources, delivery, and output. Students develop knowledge of the business and technical aspects of managing large-scale delivery operations. The expert in Logistics/Supply Chain Management optimizes these complex networks to ensure efficiency and satisfaction.

Concentrations in Electromagnetics and Communication
This concentration is appropriate for students who wish to focus on theory and applications of radio frequency systems design and engineering. Students will learn how to characterize the behavior of electromagnetic waves as they propagate through different mediums, and the application of several communication systems that transmit and receive these electromagnetic waves including communication satellites and software defined radios (SDR).

The B.S. in Environmental Engineering applies principles from all of the natural sciences (physics, chemistry, geology, and biology) to help you tackle interconnected challenges as they relate to water, energy, air quality, and related fields.
Environmental engineers advance the science and technology of air quality, water quality, water resources, housing, and other built environments, greenspace development, and the protection of plants, animals, and their habitats. Concentrations in Modern Techniques in Sustainability

Concentrations in Aerospace
Aerospace focuses on industries in which engineers design or build aircraft, missiles, and systems for national defense, or spacecraft. Complementing your general mechanical engineering principles, you study subjects such as propulsion, stability and control, structures, mechanics, and aerodynamics, which is the study of how air interacts with moving objects. As you look forward, this provides you with additional courses to pursue career options at aerospace companies like NASA, Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman, Draken, etc., and may spark an interest in undergraduate research and advanced study in graduate school
