The Bachelor of Business Administration in human resource management prepares you to be the business, nonprofit, and government organizational specialists who respond to employee concerns, administer labor and employment laws, and design policies enabling organizations to achieve strategic goals.

A Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management emphasizes the management of relationships between employers and employees. The CSAT major combines with one of two majors in the College of Education; it leads to certification in elementary education with one of the following specialized endorsement areas: special education, Spanish (paired with the Spanish elementary education minor), English as a Second Language (ESL) (with the Applied Linguistics-ESL minor), or early childhood (with the Early Childhood Education minor). A Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) may be earned. For certification, the student must:

• Complete both the CSAT major, the education major, and the complementary minor (if required) with a GPA of 2.7 or better
• Have an overall GPA of 2.7 or better
• Pass the MTTC Elementary Education and endorsement-area tests

Students can pursue an emphasis in ceramics, graphic design, illustration, jewelry and metalsmithing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and visual studies. The program is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.

A studio art minor is also offered, requiring completion of eight courses.

The curriculum is flexible and includes both a strong core of course requirements and multiple elective offerings to allow students to pursue their particular media interests. It prepares students to enter the job market as journalists or other related media careers, developing gateway skills of reporting, writing and production in print, television, radio and online-based media.

OSHM prepares students for entry-level positions within the occupational safety profession. Students are immersed in a curriculum that exposes them to a wide range of experiences to prepare them for a career based on the industry in which they wish to work. You may pursue a graduate degree via one of two tracks. Track 1 is an intensive four semester applied program for those who have completed the pre-professional requirements and a bachelor's degree. Track 2 is a six semester program, with the first two semesters meeting pre-professional requirements, and the final four semesters an intensive applied program.
Opportunities for supervised clinical practice are provided in community-based healthcare and educational settings located within two hours of GVSU's Health Campus, with opportunities outside this radius potentially available upon request.

Legal studies students may earn a bachelor of arts (B.A.) or bachelor of science (B.S.) degree. The B.A. requires third semester proficiency in a foreign language. The B.S. requires completion of courses in statistics and research methods. A minor, not approved by the ABA, is also available.
