The veterinary AA pathway degree is for students who wish to pursue a Bachelor's degree toward a career working with animals.

This pathway is designed for students interested in transferring to a four-year institution to pursue a Bachelor's degree in business with a focus on entrepreneurship. The pathway provides students with the opportunity to engage in ideation, business and financial modeling, effectuation, rapid prototyping, and design thinking.

The digital media multimedia game design AS degree teaches you how to create computer games  using graphics, animation, programming languages and specialized software. Prepare for jobs such as desktop publisher, production designer, electronic publisher, illustrator, multimedia specialist, multimedia presentation developer, interface designer, computer graphic designer, and project manager.

A surgical technologist assists surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other members of an operating room team. Surgical technologists, who may also be called surgical or operating room technicians or scrub techs, prepare the operating room before the surgery takes place. They also prepare patients for their surgery, arrange medical equipment, and assist doctors during surgical procedures.

The surgical technologist position is sometimes confused with the surgical assistant role. A surgical assistant is another member of the operating room team. While a surgical technologist's tasks are usually limited to preparing operating rooms and equipment, and handing instruments to surgeons, the surgical assistant provides hands-on assistance to a surgeon during an operation.

A surgical assistant might help control a patient's bleeding, apply sutures and use suctioning equipment. Some surgical technologists become surgical assistants after receiving supplemental on-the-job training. To become a surgical assistant, you can also complete a formal training program.

As part of a day's regular duties and tasks, surgical technicians may perform some or all the following:

• Prepare the operating room for upcoming surgeries
• Sterilize equipment and stock up any necessary supplies
• Prepare patients for their procedures
• Sterilize equipment and hands surgeons’ instruments upon their request.
• Order and take inventory of supplies, and maintain files and records of procedures

The clinical research professional AS degree prepares you to become an integral member of a clinical trials team. With the many advances in healthcare delivery, there's a growing need for trained healthcare professionals, especially in clinical research.

This new HCC program builds fundamental skills in adherence to IRB guidelines; safety for clinical research participants; coordination of clinical treatment and study visits; screening, recruitment, and enrollment of study participants; and clinical trial compliance with Federal and State regulatory laws. Clinical research professional training qualifies you to work in biological, pharmaceutical, or social and behavioral clinical research settings.

Coursework includes an in-depth study of drug development, federal regulations, good clinical practices, and the clinical research process. Supervised fieldwork provides skills application in protocol design, participant recruitment, regulatory compliance, accountability for drugs and devices, and auditing documentation in clinical research studies.

A radiographer performs various radiographic procedures and techniques that result in images that are interpreted by a licensed physician.  The radiography AS degree trains you to apply x-ray energy to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. The graduate of the Radiography Program is eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist's (ARRT) examination and will also be eligible for a State of Florida General Radiographer license.

The HCC Statistics Associate in Arts degree pathway is for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in statistics or a related field at a four-year university. Many university programs require the completion of specific courses prior to acceptance. It is the student's responsibility to contact the institution to ensure transferability.

Please note only 60 of these credits are needed for AA degree completion. For each pathway, IDS 2891 is a degree requirement, and for most of the pathways, SLS 1106 is required for first-time-in-college students. CGS 2100 may be able to be tested out for no credit. The network infrastructure AS degree teaches network infrastructure concepts, protocols and configurations related to routers, LAN, VLAN, WAN, IP addressing, and more. This program prepares you for a variety of jobs in the IT industry.

Nursing is a challenging, rewarding career. A nationwide nursing shortage means great career opportunities are available. Accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), our nursing AS degree program takes four semesters, and graduates are eligible to take the National licensing exam NCLEX. The HCC Philosophy Associate in Arts degree pathway is a for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in philosophy at a college or university. The associate degree provides students with the foundational knowledge required to enhance their understanding of philosophy as a critical inquiry of nature and human society, to analyze and evaluate major paradigms in philosophy from historical and contemporary perspectives, to sharpen critical thinking and argumentative skills, and to prepare students to transfer to a university.

This degree offers students a fundamental understanding of the main fields of philosophy, including logic, ethics, epistemology, metaphysics, social and political philosophy, aesthetics, and philosophy of religion while exposing students to a broad spectrum of philosophical theories.
