The rise of globalization and new regulatory processes has created a demand for accounting professionals across many sectors of business, government and nonprofit agencies. Accounting technology prepares you for employment as an accountant or accounting paraprofessional in occupations requiring analysis, evaluation, theory, and design. The coursework focuses on basic accounting functions as well as skills common to several fields of business, including finance, business law, and general business topics.

The HCC Philosophy Associate in Arts degree pathway is a for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in philosophy at a college or university. The associate degree provides students with the foundational knowledge required to enhance their understanding of philosophy as a critical inquiry of nature and human society, to analyze and evaluate major paradigms in philosophy from historical and contemporary perspectives, to sharpen critical thinking and argumentative skills, and to prepare students to transfer to a university.

This degree offers students a fundamental understanding of the main fields of philosophy, including logic, ethics, epistemology, metaphysics, social and political philosophy, aesthetics, and philosophy of religion while exposing students to a broad spectrum of philosophical theories. Many university programs require the completion of specific courses prior to acceptance. It is the student's responsibility to contact the institution to ensure transferability.

Please note only 60 of these credits are needed for AA degree completion. For each pathway, IDS 2891 is a degree requirement, and for most of the pathways, SLS 1106 is required for first-time-in-college students. CGS 2100 may be able to be tested out for no credit. The hospitality and tourism management AS degree prepares you for employment in management positions in the hospitality industry, and/or provides supplemental training. The hospitality industry includes the hotel, motel, bed and breakfast, resort, club, marina, and other lodging organizations.

Graduates may enter positions such as catering and sales representative, guest services representative, food and beverage specialist, guest services specialist, hospitality supervisor, catering and sales supervisor, food & beverage supervisor, guest services supervisor, assistant hospitality manager, hospitality manager, and motel/hotel manager.

The computer engineering technology AS degree program prepares you for an entry-level position as a computer technician. The coursework focuses on the diagnosis and repair of hardware and software in micro, mini and mainframe computers. With minimal additional specialized training, you may become a field or in-house shop technician.

The Psychology AA pathway is for students who plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in psychology at a college or university. This degree provides the lower division psychology major courses required at many universities while exposing students to the core principles and practices of the psychology field.

This degree enables students to develop a strong foundation in research methods, statistics and biological aspects of behavior, and will offer a variety of elective courses to help students develop their knowledge of human behavior, critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills. The architecture AA pathway degree is ideal for students who wish to pursue Bachelor's degrees in architectural design, interior design and landscape architecture.

If you have an interest in technology, an eye for detail and a good amount of artistic talent, this may be the path for you. HCC offers the training you need to lay the foundation for a successful career. The coursework for this program prepares you for employment as a construction planner, architectural assistant or architectural engineer, as well as to sit for the contractor's exam.

The Architecture specific courses are only offered on the Dale Mabry campus.

The business administration AA pathway is for students who wish to transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a Bachelor's degree in business, specializing in fields such as accounting, economics, finance, insurance, marketing, or management. Careers include management positions in nearly every business and industry, such as sales, accountant, labor negotiator and business owner.

This pathway is designed for students interested in transferring to a four-year institution to pursue a Bachelor's degree in business with a focus on entrepreneurship. The pathway provides students with the opportunity to engage in ideation, business and financial modeling, effectuation, rapid prototyping, and design thinking.

The electronics engineering technology AS degree program prepares you for an entry-level position as an electronics engineering technician who assists engineers in planning, research, development and design.

The coursework focuses on the skills needed for troubleshooting electronic equipment, performing operations, calculations, testing and reporting.
