Work Permit USA

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.

It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

  1. Pre-Completion OPT: This is temporary employment provided to F-1 students before completion of their course of study.
  2. Post-Completion OPT: This is temporary employment available to F-1 students after completing their course of study.
  3. 24 Month STEM Extension: Students enrolled in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses can a 24-month extension after their initial Post-Completion OPT authorization.

Associate of Arts in Hospitality Administration Management Pathway

The hospitality administration management AA pathway degree is ideal for students who want to pursue Bachelor's degrees in the field of hospitality. It allows a you the ability to complete the 36 hours of general education credits, while meeting the common prerequisite requirements for university admission into the hospitality administration program.

This curriculum is from the current college catalog and is meant to provide prospective students an example of courses taken in this degree/certificate.  It is not intended to be used for graduation requirements. Please note only 60 of these credits are needed for AA degree completion. For each pathway, IDS 2891 is a degree requirement, and for most of the pathways, SLS 1106 is required for first-time-in-college students. CGS 2100 may be able to be tested out for no credit. Associate of Science in Echocardiography

Echocardiography uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of the human heart. Our AS degree prepares you to perform diagnostic studies on patients in order to quantify cardiac disease, including coronary arteriography, hemodynamic monitoring and analysis, and electrophysiology studies. Graduates must pass national registry examinations to become certified echocardiography technologists.

This pathway is for students who want to pursue a four-year degree in Finance, which includes careers in business and management in diverse organizations.
