In this program, we aim to develop your skills and aesthetic understanding in an artistic discipline. Students are required to take courses that blend studio practice with references to art history and theory. You have the chance to work closely with teachers who are committed to creative work in their own field and encourage students to follow the same path. The program encourages you to strive for the creation of a significant body of art work representing very high levels of achievement.

This selective program emphasizing studio art includes several phases of professional competence in the department with the possible inclusion of other disciplines outside the department when necessary.

Our program provides a foundation in the principles of geology and its related sciences with four laboratories, a seismograph and field experiences. A newer track on environmental earth sciences integrates a set of cross-disciplinary environmental science experiences from biological sciences, chemistry, meteorology and physics.

Oswego is ideally located for field studies of Lake Ontario, carbonate and clastic sedimentary rocks of the Lower Paleozoic age, Precambrian rocks of the Adirondacks, Pleistocene glacial features and the pollution of rivers and ground waters. Field trips may include southeastern Pennsylvania, the Chesapeake Bay, Ithaca, Whitaker State Park, and the Catskill Mountains.

Build your resume through internships and co-op opportunities, and complete an independent research project under the direction of a faculty adviser. Our interdisciplinary degree integrates concepts and methods from computer science, graphic design and the social sciences. Drawing upon these concepts and methods, you will learn user-centered design approaches as you create information and communication technologies such as websites, mobile apps, computer games and software design.

Choose between two tracks designed to focus solely on HCI influences or a professional track infused with business courses.

Core subjects include management, accounting, marketing, organization, law and finance. Specialization in a particular field — international management, manufacturing management, organizational leadership or financial services — can lead to valuable, in-depth study in your area of interest.

Engage in teamwork and practical projects to put what you’re learning into practice — culminating with your capstone experience. Join a student-operated, faculty-advised professional organization such as the Business Management Club or Phi Beta Lambda. Interact with, and gain experience from, professional groups in the business community. Build your resume through internships and co-op opportunities. Apply for a study-abroad program in Europe, Australia or mainland China — or one of the internships available at the local, national and international levels.

Offered jointly by the Atmospheric and Geological Sciences Department and Chemistry Department, this program covers topics ranging from the chemical makeup of Venus to the search for oil on Earth. Courses cover general, historical and structural geology; mineralogy; petrology; and physical chemistry.

Facilities include four full-sized laboratories, a seismograph for recording worldwide earthquakes and a geology computer lab in the Shineman Center.

This interdisciplinary program provides language skills, cultural information and an understanding of the fundamental business and economic concepts essential for those in management and marketing positions in firms that operate in the global economy. Most recent data suggest that the job market for these occupations is likely to remain favorable.

Core courses build your foundation in language and culture, as well as basic economic and business concepts, while electives offer you the opportunity to develop a greater depth of knowledge. A dual-language option, for those already proficient in a foreign language, further enhances employment prospects. Our robust study-abroad program provides opportunities to work or intern in multinational or international firms abroad. The program’s required capstone internship lets you apply the knowledge you’ve learned in your classes to a work setting.

Candidates will examine theoretical and practical applications of communication research within environments that require strategic communication, such as organizational and mediated contexts. Recent baccalaureate graduates and current professionals will have an opportunity to examine the creation, perception, interpretation, and implications of communicated messages.

You will be able to tailor your education to meet your goals. Choose between a thesis track focusing on research designed for students who wish to gain more experience in research or a non-thesis track for students interested in taking more courses. Both tracks will help students to enter the workforce upon graduation or to apply to Ph.D. programs following their master’s degree. SUNY Oswego’s research intensive program using advanced facilities in the research labs makes students more marketable to industry, Ph.D. institutions, and professional/medical schools. 

Our program includes a professional track option designed to include business management electives selected from our award-winning MBA programs. Students will take courses such as operations management to prepare for the application of business principles to chemistry.

Our Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) accredited program prepares students with the listening, problem-solving, diagnosis, treatment planning and case consultation skills needed for a successful future in the field. The program consists of 60 credits, which allows you to create relationships with area leaders for future opportunities, plus see the skills, theories and ethics utilized in the practice.

The Public Accounting MBA combines a comprehensive business curriculum with required accounting courses in tax, theory, audit and government accounting. The program prepares students for high-level careers in accounting and finance.
