The 36 to 63-credit Master’s of Business Administration (number of credits is based on your undergraduate coursework) provides the knowledge base and skills that enable professionals to become leaders in business by offering a comprehensive program which meets the needs of an ever-changing, global business environment. The program is offered on a part-time basis during the evenings and weekends with 15- and 7-week semesters, to accommodate the schedules of busy working professionals who are interested in advancing their careers. When you enroll in the program, you will join students representing every continent and possessing a variety of professional backgrounds, including those who work in corporate entities, nonprofit organizations and government agencies.

Physician assistants (PAs) provide medical care to patients under the supervision of physicians and surgeons. In practice, PAs perform a large percentage of the same care patients receive when they visit a doctor, including taking histories, performing physical exams, ordering labs and diagnostic studies, making initial diagnoses and formulating treatment plans, prescribing medication, performing procedures, and assisting in surgery. PAs may specialize in any area of medicine or surgery and enjoy lateral mobility, meaning that they may move from specialty to specialty without additional formal training.

LIU Brooklyn's Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program was the first in the region to be approved by the New York State Education Department. Successful completion of the program enables the candidate to register as a physician assistant and to sit for the National Certifying Examination administered by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

B.S. in Entrepreneurship teaches students how to prepare and execute a comprehensive strategy for launching a new venture. The entrepreneurial process of value creation through innovation remains the same regardless of the context or the ultimate goal. Although people often assume that the focus of entrepreneurship is on starting for-profit businesses, learning the entrepreneurial process will help you to think more strategically in all of your endeavors.

In this major, students will interact extensively with the business community both inside and outside the classroom and produce a plan that is both defensible to potential investors and actionable in the real world.

Graduates of the program have strong clinical, advocacy and administrative skills that they use in community-based, governmental, and for-profit organizations across the region.

The program partners with local community-based organizations to provide well-trained generalist practice social workers, prepared to work with individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities through a variety of methods.

In addition to preparing students for careers in social work, the program also prepares students who seek to pursue a graduate degree in social work and in other related fields. Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for advanced standing in a graduate program in Social Work. With Advanced Standing, students only need to complete one-year of graduate study to earn their master degree.

With pressure to contain the cost and time it takes to create new products and bring them to market, professionals with expertise in regulatory affairs are highly sought after by pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers, as well as by hospitals, health maintenance organizations (HMOs) and a range of other health care oriented organizations as well. The program of study is flexible and can be tailored to accommodate the professional requirements of the student by offering specialization courses that provide them with the opportunity to examine a specific management function or an area of application in greater depth. Areas of specialization include health care administration, health care management, health care policy and aging/long-term care. Other specializations can be developed in consultation with a faculty advisor from the broad spectrum of courses available through the Program and the School, as well as through courses available across the Campus.

The Program is divided into four parts: an introductory sequence that provides 15 credits of public service sector foundations and skills, followed by 9 credits of focused management topics including human resources, budgeting and financial management, and law and accountability. Students then take 12 credits in an area of specialization and a required six-credit integrative capstone experience, which culminates in a project and a formal presentation.
