B.S. in Finance provides students with a broad-based understanding of the principles that govern financial institutions and markets, and the strategies they employ to maximize investor returns while minimizing risk. The program develops students' professional competencies as financial executives and prepares them for careers in corporate finance, investment banking, international finance security, analysis brokerage and securities trading, and portfolio management. Recent LIU Brooklyn graduates are working at the New York Stock Exchange, Quick & Reilly, Goldman Sachs and other prominent financial institutions.

The Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics (BSDA) will prepare students for the growing demand in industries for data-literate professionals who can understand and perform data analytics and apply the knowledge in decision-making in various practical fields. In addition to the common core curriculum, the upper-division coursework innovatively consists of the following modules:

Foundational Module: programming in Python, Data Analytics with Excel, R, and Python, Data Structures and Algorithms
Core Module: Database Management, Data Visualization, Advanced Statistics, Data Mining and Business Intelligence, Machine Leaning, Intro to AI
Applied Module: Data Analytics Ethics, Intro to Fintech, Intro to Modern Cryptography, Computational Genomics, Deep Learning, and Capstone Project

The B.S. in Exercise Science & Wellness specifically focuses on areas such as human performance, exercise physiology, strength & conditioning, nutrition, biomechanics, sports management and inclusive fitness programing. The curriculum was designed to provide a strong foundation in scientific, physiological, and psychological concepts related to sports performance, wellness, fitness evaluation and exercise adherence, exercise prescription, inclusive fitness and health promotion. Our program positions students for careers in Commercial Fitness, with Professional Sports Teams, at Community Centers, in Non-Profit Organizations, in addition to Wellness Companies, Hotels & Cruise Ships, and the Entertainment Industry. Our graduates are academically prepared to pursue graduate and professional degrees in a wide range of allied health professions such as exercise physiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, sports medicine, personal and athletic training.

LIU Brooklyn’s Health Science bachelor’s degree program, which is part of the School of Health Professions, offers a flexible and multifaceted curriculum that is grounded in science, health care, and wellness. A primary goal of the major is to prepare students for professional health careers in physical therapy, public health, respiratory care, nursing, medicine, and other areas.

The program is registered by the New York State Department of Education. Graduates of the program receive a Master of Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology that satisfies the academic and professional requirements specified by ASHA for the CCC-SLP, and are eligible to apply for licensure in SLP by the New York State Department of Education's Office of the Professions. Students who wish to satisfy the New York State Education Office of Teaching requirements for Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) may also prepare for this certification as part of their graduate program. Students demonstrating proficiency (i.e., speaking, listening, reading, and writing) in a language other than English may further prepare for a certificate in Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities with a Bilingual Extension. This program will prepare students to work with individuals who are bilingual or speak a language other than English. TV Writers Studio (TVWS) is a one-of-a-kind writing practicum. Pure and simple, the goal of the TVWS is to educate and to develop highly skilled, experienced professionals with strong portfolios who will be prepared to begin careers in the television industry as writer/producer/entrepreneurs.

Each year, the TVWS has two cohorts running side-by-side: one in its first year, the other in its second and final year. The students invited to participate in the TVWS become part of an intensive, two year curriculum of study during which they function collaboratively like the staff of an ongoing television series; and independently, as writer/creators of their own TV series pilot and web series.

Upon completing the 48 credit program, each student will graduate with an M.F.A in Writing and Producing for Television which.

B.S. in Accounting prepares students for acceptance into various master’s programs and for employment in either the public, private, government or not-for-profit sectors in addition to entry-level positions in business, financial and accounting firms. Students learn essential skills in financial and managerial accounting, taxation and auditing. The curriculum provides a systems approach to prepare students to be technically competent, alert to ethical issues and able to adapt to changes in technology, regulation and globalization.

Student clubs for accounting majors include the Accounting Society, which regularly sponsors professional events and host lectures by guest speakers in the accounting profession. The National Association of Black Accountants offers students the opportunity to participate in mentorship and apprenticeship programs, providing them with the hands-on experience that is so critical to future employers.

B.S. in Computer Science degree focuses on the concepts and techniques used in the design and the development of advanced software systems, network designs and applications. Students in this program explore the conceptual foundations of computer science – its fundamental algorithms, programming languages, operating systems and software engineering techniques. In addition, they can choose from innovative electives, including artificial intelligence, database systems, graphical user interfaces, web development, e-commerce and computer networks, and system and network administration among others. As with the introductory sequence, these advanced courses stress hands-on learning.

Graduates of the B.S. in Computer Science program have gone on to highly successful careers with Bloomberg, JPMorgan Chase, Accenture, MTA, DOT, New York City government agencies, Con Edison, NYU Medical Center, and other technology-based corporations.

The 36 to 63-credit Master’s of Business Administration (number of credits is based on your undergraduate coursework) provides the knowledge base and skills that enable professionals to become leaders in business by offering a comprehensive program which meets the needs of an ever-changing, global business environment. The program is offered on a part-time basis during the evenings and weekends with 15- and 7-week semesters, to accommodate the schedules of busy working professionals who are interested in advancing their careers.  The School of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preparing new nurses through two tracks:

• Full-time day track
• Accelerated 2nd-degree track—a 16-month program for students who already hold a baccalaureate degree in another field. This track offers admission in the Summer, Spring, and Fall. 
• Integrate knowledge from the liberal arts and sciences when providing professional nursing care to diverse individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations throughout the life span and across the continuum of healthcare settings.
• Identify principles of leadership and management for quality improvement and patient safety to the delivery of high quality professional nursing care within current cultural, economic, organizational, and political perspectives.
