Prior to graduation, students will professionally mount a public exhibition of the work in The Lore Degenstein Gallery, where they will gain experience in a professional gallery with museum standards.

Required independent coursework and a cross-disciplinary approach allow students to investigate and experiment with multiple ways of creating art. Students are encouraged and given ample time to develop a distinctive and personal visual style.

Learn about theatrical theories, best practices, historical challenges, and the great artists and thinkers of yesterday who make today’s performances meaningful.

Classes range from acting to production and design courses. Combined with history and dramaturgical work, you’ll have a better understanding of human communication, culture and the place theatre has in the world.

Physics courses in classical areas such as mechanics, electricity and magnetism, optics, and electronics with select classes in quantum areas give students the foundational knowledge to continue their education, step into a career or teach the next generation of Einsteins.

Since one in 12 students at Susquehanna is a creative writing major, we have dedicated creative writing housing, poetry slams, seven student-run publications and frequent late-night literary gatherings.

From Day One, your work will be critiqued by professional, published authors — who are also your professors — and you’ll have plenty of chances to interact one-on-one with them.

Learn the essentials of digital and new media and gain real-life experience as a broadcaster — in front of or behind the camera — at Susquehanna. You’ll gain a holistic view of visual storytelling with our interdisciplinary minors, like film studies, to gain a better understanding of important topics in today’s world.

Learn principles of writing, ethics of communications, theories of traditional and digital media, and what it means to be a communications professional. At Susquehanna, you will use the latest video and audio production equipment to practice videography, digital editing, writing for new media, commercial production and on-air procedures.

There are lots of opportunities for you to be involved, especially LensFlare, a group of students who create promotional and instructional videos for other students or faculty and staff.
