With a degree in international studies, you will be prepared to work with diverse populations and pursue careers in a number of areas such as: international business, service organizations based in the U.S., federal service employment, or in non-governmental organizations abroad.
If you're interested in studying or working abroad, working with diverse populations or strengthening a second language and cultural knowledge, the international studies major is perfect for you. While technology evolves at a rapid pace, the journalism and digital media fields have never been more exciting! It's more important now than ever to be able to communicate quickly and effectively on multiple media platforms. As a journalism/digital media major, you will gain a well-rounded skill set that will allow you to work in a variety of settings.

Comparative Religion Emphasis
Learn about different religions in India, Tibet, China, Japan, Africa and the Americas.  Study Islamic and Buddhist traditions and explore the new emerging cultures of the world.

Medical laboratory scientists perform laboratory tests used in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease. These tests range from simple blood tests to more complex analyses such as those needed to uncover diseases such as AIDS, diabetes or cancer. Medical laboratory scientists can also specialize in areas such as chemistry, hematology, blood banking, immunology and microbiology. They are responsible for the accuracy of test results and the reporting of results to the pathologist or other doctors.

The University of Findlay's MLS program will prepare you to enter an accredited clinical education training program. The program includes courses that are required for certification as well as the general education requirements needed for a bachelor of science degree.

The goal of the Japanese program at the University of Findlay is to help you develop communication skills that will enable you to pursue a career in virtually any industry with Japanese as a second language. Findlay offers a bachelor's degree in Japanese, a bachelor's degree in multi-age Japanese (grades K-12) with a teaching license.

Experiential Learning
Our instruction strongly emphasizes the functional and practical use of the language as well as education about the Japanese culture. You will be immersed in the language with lessons both inside and outside of the classrooms.  

You will practice your Japanese language skills:

• In class
• On-campus activities with Japanese students
• Activities with the Findlay area Japanese community members
• Study abroad and internship programs in Japan (short visits or up to a year)

There are approximately 350 Japanese speakers in the Findlay area, and you will do various things with them. We also have strong ties with Japan. We are affiliated with some large educational institutions, several universities, companies, and language schools in Japan.   

Every semester, you will find some of our students studying and/or working in Japan. Some of our graduates work in Japan as well as in Japanese companies located in the US. Some of our graduates became teachers of Japanese in the US and teachers of English in Japan.

In the classical sense, philosophy represents an ongoing inquiry into the most basic issues of human existence. Plato, for instance, viewed philosophy as the pursuit of truth, beauty and justice.  More broadly, whatever concerns people, concerns philosophy.

The University’s philosophy program prepares individuals to use ideas and theories to address real-world issues in areas such as education, business, law, public policy, health care and the environment. Students may select a major or minor in applied philosophy or a minor in applied ethics.  Additionally, individualized programs of study can be created in consultation with a faculty adviser.

If you’re interested in sitting for the CMA (Certified Management Accountant) exam, you may take it as an upperclassman upon recommendation of your adviser or upon graduation.
