An emphasis in mathematics prepares students for careers as computer scientists, mathematical programmers or software engineers. Graduates will serve as the inventors, theorists and researchers that create and troubleshoot new computer technologies and applications. They can also design new programming languages, develop virtual reality environments and advance ideas towards the relationship between computer technologies and humanity.

To complete a Computer Science degree with a Mathematics Emphasis you must complete six mathematics emphasis courses in addition to the computer science core courses.

The English program provides a comprehensive interdisciplinary curriculum designed to prepare students for successful careers in many diverse areas of education, public relations, communications, law, and marketing.  As an English major, you will develop skills to become a critical reader, writer, and thinker through the study of diverse literary genres, writing strategies, and research skills.

Teaching
The teaching emphasis exposes students to the best teaching practices in the field and helps them to maintain an awareness of changing teaching pedagogies while developing their abilities as critical readers, writers, and thinkers.

The finance emphasis is designed to help students develop an extensive analytical perspective. The University’s philosophy program prepares individuals to use ideas and theories to address real-world issues in areas such as education, business, law, public policy, health care and the environment. Students may select a major or minor in applied philosophy or a minor in applied ethics.  Additionally, individualized programs of study can be created in consultation with a faculty adviser.

Medical laboratory scientists perform laboratory tests used in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease. These tests range from simple blood tests to more complex analyses such as those needed to uncover diseases such as AIDS, diabetes or cancer. Medical laboratory scientists can also specialize in areas such as chemistry, hematology, blood banking, immunology and microbiology. The University of Findlay's MLS program will prepare you to enter an accredited clinical education training program. The program includes courses that are required for certification as well as the general education requirements needed for a bachelor of science degree.

An emphasis in web and database prepares students for careers as Web programmers, database administrators, or software engineers.  Graduates will be able to create the back-end programming needed for today's business websites and ensure data are efficiently managed and organized to meet today's information needs.
